Description
What kind of wine it is
The Brunello di Montalcino by Casanova di Neri is a still red wine from Tuscany that represents an authentic expression of Sangiovese. To the eye, it displays a deep ruby colour with garnet highlights. The nose reveals an intense bouquet of black cherry, red fruits and violet, enhanced by elegant spicy notes. On the palate, it is dry, warm and robust, supported by mature and harmonious tannins that perfectly balance the richness of the fruit. Its remarkable persistence makes it ideal for pairing with braised red meats, game and mature cheeses.
Where it comes from
This wine is born in the heart of Montalcino, where Casanova di Neri has been cultivating its vineyards since 1971. The vines grow at an altitude between 350 and 480 metres, with an optimal east-facing exposure. This location encourages regular ripening of the grapes, giving the wine a precise aromatic definition. The hillside altitude preserves freshness and vibrant tension, while the soil composition ensures a solid structure. The characteristics of the Montalcino area give the wine an extraordinary aptitude for long ageing.
How it is produced
The production process begins with the manual harvesting of the bunches, carefully selected to ensure the highest quality. The destemmed grapes are transferred to the fermentation vats by gravity, protecting the integrity of the raw material. The spontaneous fermentation is carried out by indigenous yeasts, followed by maceration in open truncated-cone vats at a controlled temperature for about 21-25 days. The wine then matures slowly in oak barrels for a period between 42 and 45 months. A further refinement in the bottle completes its evolution, resulting in a dry, harmonious and persistent sip.
