Description
What kind of wine it is
Casa Aurora Valle del Rio is a still red wine from Spain, originating from the evocative region of Castile and León. This wine is created from a harmonious blend of Garnacha and Mencía, varieties that lend freshness and great elegance to the final profile. On the nose, it offers a bouquet rich in red fruits, enhanced by citrus nuances, delicate floral notes and distinct mineral hints. The palate is pleasant and well-balanced, constantly inviting another sip thanks to its clear fruity persistence.
Where it comes from
The origin of this label is deeply linked to the north-western region of Spain, specifically to the expressive territory of Alto Bierzo. The project was born from the dedication of Casa Aurora and Germán Blanco’s desire to create a sincere tribute to his great-grandmother Aurora García. The family roots are most strongly expressed in Villa de Albares, the place of origin that imparts an authentic character to the glass. The grapes come entirely from a specific territorial selection known as Viña del Roso, an element that highlights the strong connection with the unique features of the landscape.
How it is produced
The meticulous processing enhances the primary characteristics of the grapes, allowing the structure to develop a remarkable ageing potential that can extend for over a decade. To fully appreciate its aromatic complexity, it is advisable to decant for one hour and serve the wine at an optimal temperature between fourteen and sixteen degrees. At the table, the pronounced freshness of this red makes it an ideal pairing with boards of cheeses and meat-based dishes, particularly enhancing flavourful pork preparations.
