Description
What kind of wine it is
This still white wine is made from Turbiana grapes. It expresses a structured, savoury and elegant style, characterised by good persistence. The ageing process involves two years in steel tanks followed by a further rest of at least six months in the bottle, which consolidates its depth and longevity.
Where it comes from
The vineyards are located in Rovizza di Sirmione, near Lake Garda. The roots sink into the white clay of Lugana, a lake-origin soil that gives the wine a broad taste profile. This particular geographical location allows for a high aromatic precision even after a long ageing period.
How it is produced
Production begins with a late harvest, carried out between the end of October and the beginning of November. The wine matures for two years in steel tanks, thus preserving cleanliness and definition. The bottle ageing lasts for at least six months in an underground cellar located below the lake level, at a constant temperature, before being released to the market.
History and Curiosities
Lugana Riserva del Lupo 2021 originates in Rovizza di Sirmione, where the pure Turbiana vines sink their roots into the white clay of an ancient lakebed. The Ca’ Lojera winery enhances this unique terroir through a carefully timed late autumn harvest. After two years of ageing in steel tanks, the wine rests in bottles within evocative underground cellars below lake level at a constant temperature; a fascinating process that gives the wine a deep structure and an extraordinary longevity of 5-10 years.
