Description

What kind of wine it is

Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir come together in Ca’ del Bosco Franciacorta Cuvée Prestige Extra Brut, a Traditional Method sparkling wine of extraordinary finesse and elegance. Characterised by a fine and persistent perlage, this wine offers a clear bouquet with hints of yellow apple, peach, citrus and white flowers, complemented by delicate notes of bread crust. On the palate, it is creamy and lively, supported by vibrant freshness. The Extra Brut dosage ensures a dry and clean sip, with a harmonious finish enriched by subtle nuances of hazelnut.

Where it comes from

The excellence of this label originates from a mosaic of selected vineyards spread across the historic communes of Franciacorta, such as Erbusco, Adro and Iseo. Each plot is carefully monitored to enhance the specific qualities of the grape variety and the soil. To ensure consistent style and greater depth of flavour, the blend is completed with a precious share of reserve wines. This union of different territorial expressions allows Ca’ del Bosco to define a deep identity profile, capable of precisely conveying the richness of the surrounding landscape.

How it is produced

Production follows extremely rigorous protocols, starting with careful manual harvesting. The bunches are subjected to meticulous washing before pressing, which is carried out in the absence of oxygen to preserve the aromas. After fermentation in steel tanks and the creation of the blend, the prise de mousse begins according to the rules of the Traditional Method. Maturation on the lees lasts for at least two years, giving the wine structure and complexity. The process concludes with the exclusive oxygen-free disgorgement, a patented system that prevents oxidative shock. To guarantee total transparency, each bottle is marked with a unique traceability code.

History and Curiosities

Founded in Erbusco in 1968, Ca’ del Bosco celebrates the excellence of Franciacorta with the Cuvée Prestige 48th Edition, masterfully crafted by oenologist Stefano Capelli. This renowned sparkling wine guarantees impeccable stylistic continuity, combining at least 20% reserve wines with the base wines. The exclusive disgorgement in the absence of oxygen prevents oxidative shock, preserving aromatic purity and limiting the use of sulphites. Each bottle, equipped with unique traceability, represents a masterpiece that has received multiple awards from wine critics.

Ca' del Bosco is the mainstay of the Franciacorta terroir. The Ca' del Bosco wineries were founded in the mid-1960s by Annamaria Clementi Zanella, who bought a modest house of the same name in Erbusco, which was endowed with vineyards and woods. However, her son, Maurizio Zanella, started wine production, enhancing the terroir's characteristics and transforming that small house into one of Italy's most productive wineries. In fact, these cellars are distinguished for producing the famousCa' del Bosco sparkling wine, which is characterised by its elegant yet strong personality given by intense, juicy aromas and fullness of flavour. Today Ca' del Bosco is a well-established business, producing numerous labels, including still wines, both red and white, and Franciacorta for which Xtrawine has reserved a place of honour. You can choose from bottles of the best vintages from 2008 with an ageing capacity of between 15 and 25 years that will bring out the best in all your dishes: from pasta to fish and shellfish to dessert, the fruity notes will envelop your palate with every sip.
