Description

Style of wine

Franciacorta Annamaria Clementi Dosage Zero Riserva by Ca’ del Bosco is a white wine with a Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita from Lombardy, produced according to the Traditional Method from a balanced blend combining Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Noir. Its bright gold colour and very fine perlage anticipate elegant aromas of yellow-fleshed fruit, mango, and candied citrus fruits, enriched by sharp mineral notes. On the palate, it proves dry and pure thanks to the zero dosage, offering a sip with a defined structure, savoury and with a clean, vertical finish.

Origin

This cuvée comes from Erbusco, a premier area located in the heart of Franciacorta. For its creation, grapes are selected exclusively from the estate's ten best crus. The name pays tribute to Annamaria Clementi, founder of Ca’ del Bosco, whose oenological project was subsequently led by Maurizio Zanella. The union of meticulous viticulture and the terroir results in an exemplary aromatic purity and a distinct gustatory energy, constantly supported by a clear mineral character.

How it is produced

Vinification begins with the first-press musts, fermented for approximately seven months in small oak barrels. The best base wines make up the final blend for the secondary fermentation, followed by patient ageing on the lees for seven years within temperature-controlled cellars. The total absence of added sugars during disgorgement preserves its dry and sharp character.

History and background

A tribute to the founder Annamaria Clementi, this superb Riserva by Ca’ del Bosco is produced in Erbusco exclusively in exceptional vintages. Shaped by the vision of Maurizio Zanella, the cuvée combines grapes from the estate's ten finest crus. The identity of this Franciacorta is forged through a rigorous ritual: fermentation in small oak barrels and a majestic seven-year ageing on the lees, resulting in an excellence awarded a full 96 points by James Suckling.

Ca' del Bosco is the mainstay of the Franciacorta terroir. The Ca' del Bosco wineries were founded in the mid-1960s by Annamaria Clementi Zanella, who bought a modest house of the same name in Erbusco, which was endowed with vineyards and woods. However, her son, Maurizio Zanella, started wine production, enhancing the terroir's characteristics and transforming that small house into one of Italy's most productive wineries. In fact, these cellars are distinguished for producing the famousCa' del Bosco sparkling wine, which is characterised by its elegant yet strong personality given by intense, juicy aromas and fullness of flavour. Today Ca' del Bosco is a well-established business, producing numerous labels, including still wines, both red and white, and Franciacorta for which Xtrawine has reserved a place of honour. You can choose from bottles of the best vintages from 2008 with an ageing capacity of between 15 and 25 years that will bring out the best in all your dishes: from pasta to fish and shellfish to dessert, the fruity notes will envelop your palate with every sip.
