Description
What kind of wine it is
Pratto Bianco Ca dei Frati is a still white Table Wine from Lombardy, created from a blend of Turbiana, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. This late harvest, vinified in steel, offers a rich sip that opens with measured sweetness before evolving into a harmonious structure. The balance between freshness and savouriness leads to a long, clean finish. On the nose, it releases clear notes of tropical fruit, yellow apple and mineral hints.
Where it comes from
This blend originates from the southern shore of Lake Garda, in an area with a Mediterranean climate. The vines, trained using Guyot and spur cordon methods on calcareous-clay soils, give the glass a pronounced savouriness and distinct mineral returns. Unbound by the strict regulations of Lugana, this wine gains great depth and an authentic character, fully respecting its terroir of origin. The result translates the peculiarities of the area into clear aromas and a precise gustatory tension.
How it is produced
To preserve the fragrance of the aromas, the grapes undergo fermentation in steel without malolactic fermentation, thus maintaining the lively acidity. The wine then rests in tanks for ageing on fine lees for twelve months, which imparts complexity and a pleasant roundness. The final balance is completed with a further two months of bottle ageing. This process preserves the brilliance of the straw yellow colour and every single aromatic nuance.
History and Curiosities
Born on the southern shores of Lake Garda, Pratto Bianco embodies Cà dei Frati's bold challenge: to go beyond conventional boundaries while enhancing the Lombardy region. This exclusive late harvest masterfully combines the lively aromatic qualities of Sauvignon Blanc and the enveloping smoothness of Chardonnay with the elegance of Turbiana. Thanks to meticulous ageing in steel on fine lees, the wine develops extraordinary expressive depth, offering a harmonious sip and unforgettable freshness.

It was in 1939 when Felice Dal Cero, son of Domenico, already a winemaker in Montecchia Crosara in Verona, moved in that house, Lugana of Sirmione, sensing immediately the wine-growing area.
After 30 years of work in the vineyard and winery in 1969, his son Peter participated in the creation of Doc started to bottle its first Lugana Casa dei Frati label.
Today, with his wife Santa Rosa cultural heritage has been passed on to children Igino, Gian Franco and Anna Maria who run the company with the same passion and determination.
Mutual respect, the union of the family, defined roles and the link to their territory on the shores of Lake Garda, represent the true strength of the Dal Cero family
