Description
What kind of wine it is
Bottega Vinai Pinot Nero Trentino is a still red wine with pronounced elegance. On the nose, it offers intense aromas dominated by notes of red fruits, black cherry and jam, interwoven with hints of almond and delicate vanilla nuances. With bottle ageing, the palate develops an excellent structure, delivering velvety sensations and a remarkably harmonious finish with subtle powdery notes.
Where it comes from
This Pinot Noir originates from Trentino, a region whose characteristics favour exceptional aromatic finesse. The vineyards grow on moraine soils exposed to a cold climate, an ideal environment where this variety has thrived since the late nineteenth century. To ensure a balanced flavour profile and proper concentration, yields are kept low, thus providing a faithful expression of the local winegrowing identity.
How it is produced
The vinification process involves maceration and fermentation on the skins for about a week, a crucial stage for optimal extraction of colour and aromas. After a brief period in steel tanks, the wine completes its journey with maturation in oak barrels. This ageing imparts a harmonious profile and a brilliant ruby colour with brick-red highlights, which become more pronounced with ageing.
History and Curiosities
Introduced at the end of the nineteenth century, Pinot Noir has found the ideal environment to express its unmistakable elegance in the cool climate of Trentino, maintaining limited yields to ensure its excellence. Produced by Bottega Vinai, the prestigious line of the historic cooperative Cavit founded in 1950, this red wine is made from small, compact bunches. A wine of extraordinary structure and harmony, it has been celebrated on the world wine scene with prestigious international medals won at the Decanter World Wine Awards and the Global Pinot Noir Masters.

The image that best represents Cavit, a large co-operative composed of a large number of small wineries, is that of the vine that produces healthy grapes only if the roots and the other parts of the plant all perform their roles properly.
Created in 1950 to meet the needs of the winegrowers in the area to offer the very best quality and market their wines in a modern way, today Cavit represents over 4,500 winegrowers who are members of 11 cellars and 65% of the wine production in Trentino (around 5,700 ha). Cavit harvests, examines and selects its raw materials from the best produce of the cooperative member cellars, which undergoes strict controls at every stage: from refining to bottling.
Cavit today is one of the major companies in the wine business, operating successfully at national and international level. The headquarters in Ravina, where the production and logistics facilities are also located, house the Wine Cellar, Sparkling Wine Cellar and Wine Shop. Cavit also owns Maso Toresella, used for corporate entertaining, on Lake Toblino.
