Description
What kind of wine it is
Bottega Vinai Marzemino by Cavit is a still red wine made from Marzemino grapes grown in Trentino. A true expression of Trentino, it stands out for its harmonious and rounded style, enhanced by a spicy profile and elegant notes of liquorice. Visually, it displays an intense and brilliant ruby red colour, which anticipates a bouquet dominated by the scent of violet and the freshness of ripe cherry. Its balanced structure and clean finish make it perfect for pairing with tasty starters and roasts of white meats such as veal and poultry.
Where it comes from
The grapes are grown in the soils of Vallagarina, located on the foothill slopes along the banks of the River Adige, between the areas of Volano, Isera and Rovereto. This geographical location gives the wine a distinct identity, providing the ideal environment for the development of Marzemino. The historical connection of this variety with the region is so deep that it is even celebrated in Mozart's Don Giovanni. Thanks to its authenticity, this wine has received significant recognition, such as third place at the ENOTecnico FEM competition dedicated to its category.
How it is produced
Production begins with meticulous manual harvesting, aimed at selecting only bunches that have reached perfect ripeness. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks, a choice intended to preserve the aromatic purity and freshness of the fruit. After fermentation, the wine matures for six months in steel, developing a balanced and consistent flavour profile. To best appreciate its floral and spicy nuances, it is recommended to decant for about an hour and serve in a Bordeaux-style glass to encourage proper oxygenation.

The image that best represents Cavit, a large co-operative composed of a large number of small wineries, is that of the vine that produces healthy grapes only if the roots and the other parts of the plant all perform their roles properly.
Created in 1950 to meet the needs of the winegrowers in the area to offer the very best quality and market their wines in a modern way, today Cavit represents over 4,500 winegrowers who are members of 11 cellars and 65% of the wine production in Trentino (around 5,700 ha). Cavit harvests, examines and selects its raw materials from the best produce of the cooperative member cellars, which undergoes strict controls at every stage: from refining to bottling.
Cavit today is one of the major companies in the wine business, operating successfully at national and international level. The headquarters in Ravina, where the production and logistics facilities are also located, house the Wine Cellar, Sparkling Wine Cellar and Wine Shop.
