Description
What kind of wine it is
Bosco del Merlo Prosecco Brut is a sparkling wine from Veneto, made from a blend of Glera and Pinot Noir grapes. It displays a bright straw yellow colour, enhanced by a fine and soft perlage. On the nose, it reveals a fruity profile, characterised by distinct notes of apple and pear and delicate floral nuances. On the palate, it shows a pronounced mineral freshness, offering a dry, savoury and persistent sip. It is ideal for accompanying fried foods, seafood starters and fresh cheeses.
Where it comes from
The grapes are grown in the area of Annone Veneto, within the renowned Prosecco production zone. The vineyards stretch across a region with a deep historical identity, located between the ancient Roman consular roads Annia and Postumia. The name Bosco del Merlo is a tribute to the ancient oak forests that once covered the area. Commitment to the environment and agricultural vocation allow the vines to be cultivated sustainably, transferring the authentic expression of the land and its natural vibrancy into the glass.
How it is produced
Vinification faithfully follows the Martinotti method, an ideal process for enhancing the primary aromas and finesse of the grapes. The second fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, a precise technical choice that ensures an elegant formation of bubbles. This process gives the sparkling wine its distinctive balance, combining intense fruity aromas with a distinctly dry sip. The work in the cellar preserves the purity of the grapes, resulting in a harmonious and persistent flavour profile.

The Bosco del Merlo estate winery started up in 1977 in Annone Veneto, founded by siblings Carlo, Lucia and Roberto Paladin. Thanks to a profitable collaboration with the Istituto Sperimentale per la Viticoltura di Conegliano, a careful and modern zoning technique was immediately implemented in order to get the best out of the terroir, working the vineyard piece by piece. In the nineties, in the small town of Lison di Portogruaro, the cradle of viticulture in this wine-making region, a further 50 hectares of land was acquired, which therefore doubled capacity, increasing it to around 100 hectares in total.
Over the course of the years Bosco del Merlo has benefited from the advice of famous oenologists and experts from the Faculties of Oenology and Agriculture in Padua and Milan, such as Franco Bernabei and Leonardo Valenti, in its quest to find the most forward-thinking solutions for achieving optimal quality with the lowest environmental impact.
