Description
What kind of wine it is
Borgo Maragliano Alta Langa Rosé is a sparkling wine that expresses the elegance of Pinot Noir. Made using the Traditional Method, it appears a delicate pink and reveals a refined bouquet, with clear notes of wild strawberries, redcurrants, pomegranate and white bread. On the palate, it offers a soft and fruity sip, balanced by a lively freshness that makes it easy to drink. Thanks to its marked balance, it is the ideal choice to accompany elegant starters, fish-based dishes and fine cheeses.
Where it comes from
This wine originates from the vineyards of Crevoglio, in the Asti municipality of Loazzolo, at the heart of the Alta Langa denomination. The vines sink their roots into tuffaceous and sandstone soils, enriched by a calcareous component that gives the tasting a clear sensation and remarkable structural finesse. The Borgo Maragliano estate is dedicated to strict eco-friendly viticulture, caring for the health of the vines and the balance of the natural environment to enhance the authentic identity of the Piedmontese territory.
How it is produced
The production process begins with a brief cold maceration of the grapes, essential for extracting the rosé colour, followed by gentle pressing. After the first fermentation, the must matures for about eight months in stainless steel tanks. Subsequently, the sparkling base is bottled for the prise de mousse according to the Traditional Method, undergoing ageing on the lees for thirty-six months, which enriches its structure and aromatic complexity. The process concludes with disgorgement, preparing the wine for consumption.
History and Curiosities
Born from the experience of Giovanni Galliano, Borgo Maragliano Alta Langa DOCG is a sparkling wine that combines eco-friendly viticulture with the excellence of the Piedmontese terroir. This Brut Rosé, made exclusively from Pinot Noir, comes from mature vines. After a brief cold maceration and eight months in stainless steel, the cuvée completes its profile with a slow refermentation and ageing for 36 months on the lees. The result is an extraordinarily smooth sip, awarded 91 points by James Suckling and ideal for accompanying delicate dishes.

New entry in the company is the Federico Galliano Brut Nature, a new classic method sparkling wine produced from Riesling grapes only in 950 specimens; vine much loved by Carlo Galliano with whom he had already great results through the production of a still wine.
With the 2012 vintage, the classic Spumante Giuseppe Galliano Brut becomes Brut Nature, a decision made after years of testing, with a stop on the lees in bottle extended to 48 months. Also the Blanc de Noir Dogma, at the second exit, becomes a Brut Nature, a challenge for the producer to make a sparkling wine without liqueur d'expédition from Pinot Nero, a vine on which Carlo Galliano aims a lot.
