Description
What kind of wine is it
Malma Chacra La Papay Single Vineyards Malbec is a still red wine from Argentina, also ideal for those following a vegan diet. In the glass, it displays a ruby red colour with purple highlights, releasing clear aromas of raspberry, plum and cherry. On the palate, it is intensely fruity and well balanced by soft tannins, enriched with elegant notes of violet and vanilla derived from its time in wood. It pairs excellently with grilled sirloin or flavourful ravioli, especially if served after an hour of decanting.
Where it comes from
The grapes for this Malbec come from the Chacra La Papay estate, located in the renowned Patagonia region of Argentina. The Malma brand has dedicated this line to a local pioneer, aiming to enhance the freshness and primary aromas of the fruit. The expression of this territory favours a precise style that combines excellent drinkability and a clear aromatic definition with a good capacity for ageing, giving the wine a distinct and unmistakable territorial identity.
How it is produced
Production begins with a manual harvest, followed by careful selection and destemming of the bunches. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures between 26 and 28°C for two weeks, using selected yeasts, and is then completed with malolactic fermentation. Ageing involves nine months of rest in stainless steel tanks, while part of the wine matures in French and American oak barrels. This maturation period ensures a complex structure, supported by lively and well-balanced acidity.
