Description

What kind of wine it is

Bergianti Rosato Rifermentato Saint Vincent is an organic sparkling rosé wine produced in Emilia-Romagna by Bergianti, representing the character of the Emilia region. Made from Lambrusco di Sorbara grapes, it stands out for its deeply artisanal nature, being a wine refermented in the bottle without any clarification or filtration processes. In the glass, it offers a fine and persistent perlage, introducing an aromatic bouquet centred on pleasantly fruity notes. On the palate, it is fresh and lively, characterised by a direct and smooth flavour profile, capable of enhancing the pure varietal expression of the grape.

Where it comes from

The grapes are grown in the flatlands of Carpi. The vineyards, trained using the Guyot system, are cultivated according to the strict principles of the biodynamic method, an agricultural approach that protects and promotes the vitality of the surrounding environment. The vine roots delve into medium-textured soil, naturally sandy and silty, which imparts great finesse and agility to the wine. Harvesting takes place from mid to late September through careful and delicate manual picking, an essential step to preserve the integrity of the Lambrusco di Sorbara grape clusters.

How it is produced

The vinification process begins with destemming and a brief two-day skin maceration, followed by racking and gentle pressing. The first spontaneous fermentation is triggered solely by indigenous yeasts. The wine initially matures for six months in cement tanks, a material that allows the liquid to stabilise while preserving primary aromas. Subsequently, the sparkling is achieved entirely naturally through refermentation with must. A further six months resting on its own lees completes the production cycle, resulting in an expressive and unadulterated glass.

History and Curiosities

The Bergianti Saint Vincent 2023 is an authentic organic sparkling rosé produced in Emilia-Romagna by the Terrevive winery. Made from 100% Lambrusco di Sorbara grapes, this Emilia IGT represents the excellence of biodynamic viticulture. The spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts and the absence of filtration preserve its integrity and pure essence. After ageing in both cement and glass, the refermentation in the bottle with must from the same vintage gives a fine and elegant perlage, enhancing a fresh, lively and pleasantly fruity sip.
