Description
What kind of wine it is
Vigna Cicogna by Benito Ferrara is a white wine from Campania with great character, an authentic expression of the Greco di Tufo grape variety. This wine stands out for its dry and elegant profile, characterised by a solid structure and a taut flavour profile. On the nose, distinct notes of bitter almond and citrus emerge, intertwined with delicate aromatic herbs. On the palate, the lively freshness is perfectly balanced by a marked mineral imprint, ensuring a long, harmonious and persistent finish.
Where it comes from
This white wine originates from the renowned Tufo area, in the province of Avellino, in the heart of Irpinia. The grapes come from the specific Vigna Cicogna cru, cultivated following a strict organic and sustainable approach. The soils of this area impart a strong territorial identity, which is expressed through evident savoury sensations and a vertical flavour progression. This precise geographical location helps to maintain a lively acidic component and an aromatic clarity that enhance the persistence of the sip.
How it is produced
Vinification begins with a gentle pressing of the grapes, followed by must management protected from oxygen to preserve its aromas. Clarification takes place through natural sedimentation, respecting the original qualities of the fruit. Fermentation and subsequent maturation take place entirely in stainless steel for about seven months, with ageing on fine lees regularly stirred to enrich the wine's complexity. The process concludes with an adequate rest in the bottle, resulting in a glass that is broad, deep and notably long-lived.
