Description
What kind of wine it is
Belvento Toscana Cabernet Sauvignon by Petra is a still red wine that faithfully expresses the character of Tuscany. Made from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, it displays an intense ruby red colour and a structured, balanced body. The sensory profile is distinctly fruity and spicy, revealing clear aromas of ripe cherry and various spices on both the nose and palate. The sip finishes with a persistent aftertaste, enhanced by pleasant liquorice notes.
Where it comes from
This red originates in the northern Maremma, an area where Petra's agronomic project enhances each individual plot. The vineyards, cultivated using the Guyot method, take root in soils with a clay-sandy texture and a slight limestone presence; these characteristics favour a well-defined tannic structure and excellent fruit expression. The entire growing cycle benefits from constant sea breezes, a crucial climatic element that accompanies the grapes to full ripeness, ensuring a clear and precise aromatic profile.
How it is produced
The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are harvested at perfect ripeness to begin fermentation in stainless steel, an ideal technique for preserving the freshness and integrity of the aromatic profile. The next stage involves a maturation period of at least twelve months, skilfully divided between small and large oak barrels, which gives solidity to the structure while fully respecting the varietal character. A final ageing of three months completes the process, allowing the fruity component and tannins to blend perfectly.
History and Curiosities
Born in 1997 from the visionary project of the Petra winery, Belvento is part of the evocative collection The Wines of the Sea. This refined Toscana IGT expresses the authentic soul of Northern Maremma, combining the influence of sea breezes with careful zoning of clay-sandy soils. Under the expert guidance of oenologist Giuseppe Caviola, the wine masterfully interprets a unique territory, within an estate conceived as an ambitious architectural work that celebrates the harmonious bond between viticultural excellence and the art of hospitality.
