Description
What kind of wine it is
Bell’Aja by San Felice is a still red wine that faithfully represents the essence of Bolgheri. This blend combines the characteristics of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, presenting itself in the glass with a deep violet-red hue. The aromatic profile opens with intense notes of berry jam, enriched by delicate sweet spicy nuances. On the palate, it is pleasant and harmonious, supported by soft, enveloping tannins that ensure a balanced and structured sip.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from a careful selection of vineyards located in the area of Le Sondraie, in the heart of the Bolgheri region. The vines, cultivated following a sustainable philosophy, sink their roots into characteristic silty-sandy soils, which are fundamental in defining the wine’s style. This soil composition favours the optimal expression of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, enhancing the local character of the fruit and ensuring a precise aromatic evolution that respects the estate’s unique features.
How it is produced
The vinification process begins with fermentation and maceration lasting eighteen days, a crucial phase for extracting the right concentration of colour and defining the phenolic structure. Subsequently, the wine matures for twelve months in French oak barrels, a refinement that rounds out its structure and integrates the spicy nuances. To fully appreciate its organoleptic qualities, it is recommended to decant for one hour before serving, at an ideal temperature between fourteen and sixteen degrees Celsius.
