Description
What kind of wine it is
Alexis' Aegius Champagne perfectly expresses the elegance of Pinot Noir. Produced according to the strict Traditional Method, it appears in the glass with a clear straw yellow colour, crossed by a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, it reveals an intense aromatic profile, with pronounced blackcurrant aromas intertwined with elegant toasted notes. On the palate, it is complex, juicy and highly concentrated, offering a structured sip that fades into a pleasant persistence.
Where it comes from
This Blanc de Noirs is born in France, in the prestigious terroir of the commune of Aÿ, a highly significant area within the Champagne region. The producer Alexis continues a family history dating back to 1861, focusing on enhancing the local Grand Cru. The unique soil and climate characteristics of this area define the wine's identity, ensuring the grapes have the ideal conditions to develop remarkable aromatic complexity and an enveloping structure.
How it is produced
The cuvée is made from Pinot Noir grapes grown according to the principles of organic and sustainable agriculture. The sparkling process takes place through the slow bottle refermentation required by the Traditional Method, resulting in a Brut profile with a decisive character. This label boasts an interesting ageing potential, allowing it to evolve for several years. Served at the optimal temperature of 6-8 °C, it is the ideal accompaniment for seafood dishes, sushi, fried foods and boards of mature cheeses.
