Description
What kind of wine it is
The Nebbiolo d’Alba by Albino Rocca is a refined still red wine that enhances the purity of Nebbiolo grown in Piedmont. It stands out for its elegant and structured style, characterised by a well-defined tannic texture and a flavour profile of remarkable intensity. Perfect for those following a mindful diet, this vegan wine offers a balanced and clear sip, capable of accompanying menus with bold flavours. Served at an ideal temperature between 16 and 18 degrees, it is best enjoyed with pork, game and cheese selections, enhancing every dish with great harmony.
Where it comes from
This Piedmontese red originates from the western hills of San Rocco Seno d’Elvio, in a strip of land nestled between the territories of Barbaresco and Barolo. The vineyards are located at 250 metres above sea level, benefiting from an eastern exposure that encourages harmonious ripening of the grapes. The vines sink their roots into marl and limestone soil, marked by thin veins of sand, a geological mix that gives the wine its unmistakable flavour definition. The Nebbiolo d’Alba faithfully reflects the character of this unique territory.
How it is produced
The process begins with meticulous manual harvesting of the grapes, sourced from vineyards certified according to sustainable practices. Fermentation takes place in a controlled manner to preserve the aromatic purity. Afterwards, the wine undergoes eight months of ageing in German and Austrian oak barrels. This targeted rest in wood softens the tannic structure and enhances the natural body of the Nebbiolo, ensuring a tasting experience that is always balanced, clear and authentically linked to its roots.
History and Curiosities
Born in the evocative “middle land” between Barbaresco and Barolo, the Nebbiolo d’Alba DOC by Albino Rocca expresses the authentic soul of San Rocco Seno d’Elvio. The grapes, hand-picked from vineyards cultivated on calcareous marl at an altitude of 250 metres, give rise to a wine with unmistakable charm. Produced in a limited edition of only 8,500 bottles and certified sustainable, this refined vegan red matures for at least 8 months in fine oak barrels, acquiring an enveloping structure. An excellence born in 1940 to make every sip special.

Thanks to the inheritance of some of our most precious vineyards in the 1960’s our grandfather was able to start what is now our winery Albino Rocca. Albino’s hard work and his strong support of our father Angelo Rocca laid the foundation that created a family winemaking tradition that has grown internationally over the years.
Our history has been built together, year by year. First through the gradual acquisition of vineyards and the production of not only Nebbiolo, but also Dolcetto and Barbera in addition to our continuous effort to evolve the quality of our Barbaresco – which starts in the vineyards and continues in the cellar.
