Description
What kind of wine it is
Ada Nada's Barbaresco is a still organic red wine from Piedmont with a controlled and guaranteed designation of origin, made from Nebbiolo grapes. It displays a deep carmine red colour, destined to evolve towards elegant garnet hues. The aromatic profile is broad, defined by floral and fruity notes intertwined with balsamic hints derived from maturation in wood. On the palate, it offers a fresh and savoury sip, balanced by elegant and measured tannins, with a long and remarkably persistent finish, ideal for accompanying meat-based dishes, pork preparations and mature cheeses.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in Treiso, at the heart of the renowned Barbaresco area. The vineyards surround the Ada Nada estate and extend over the prestigious Rombone and Valeirano crus. The roots delve into the Lequio Formations, soils of Tortonian-Serravallian origin characterised by alternating compact grey marl and sand. This specific geological matrix is crucial in imparting a distinct freshness to the wine, accentuating the savoury profile and precisely defining the finesse of the tannic structure.
How it is produced
Vinification follows strict organic and sustainable practices, aimed at enhancing the potential of the terroir. The process includes careful ageing in oak barrels, essential for integrating the bouquet with balsamic aromas and harmonising the structure. This method ensures an ageing potential of between ten and fifteen years. To bring out its qualities, it is recommended to decant for one hour and serve at between fourteen and sixteen degrees Celsius.
History and Curiosities
Founded in 1919 by Carlo Nada, the Ada Nada estate cultivates ten hectares of vineyards in the prestigious Rombone and Valeirano crus, in Treiso. Under the guidance of oenologist Gianfranco Cordero, the company stands out for its rigorous organic and sustainable philosophy, dedicating half of its production to the excellence of Barbaresco. The vines sink their roots into Tortonian-Serravallian soils, the so-called Lequio Formations: this virtuous alternation of grey marl and sand gives Nebbiolo extraordinary elegance, enhancing the authentic Piedmontese soul in every glass.

It was 1919 when Carlo Nada founded the company in the Rombone locality, followed in the work by his nephew Gian Carlo who, in the 1980s, together with his wife Ada, resumed the company's innovative path. So the initial 3 hectares became 10, the Valeirano Cru was added to the Rombone vineyard, Barbera and Dolcetto also gained space, although Barbaresco continues to make up half of the entire production. In recent times, under the guidance of Anna Lisa Nada and her husband Elvio, Sauvignon and Merlot have become part of the estate's vineyard heritage. Read more
