Description

What kind of wine it is

Villa Angela Chardonnay is a still white wine that faithfully reflects Velenosi's meticulous approach. In this interpretation, Chardonnay expresses the Marche region at its best, revealing a fresh and elegant profile, supported by excellent structure and pronounced acidity. The rigorous vinification process preserves the authenticity of the grape variety, resulting in a clear and fragrant sip. Thanks to its harmonious balance, it enhances seafood starters, vegetables, and fish-based dishes.

Where it comes from

The grapes come from carefully selected estate-owned vineyards, located between Ascoli Piceno and Ripatransone. The vines, grown at altitudes between 200 and 300 metres, are trained using the Guyot system with a density of 5,000 vines per hectare and a yield of 60 quintals. The medium-textured soils, characterised by a strong sandy component, encourage a clear expression of aromas and enhance aromatic freshness. The unique hillside microclimate imparts a distinct acidic tension to the wine, ensuring great vitality and a harmonious flavour profile.

How it is produced

At the end of September, a meticulous manual harvest begins, carried out during the coolest hours to protect the aromatic integrity of the grapes. The grapes undergo cryomaceration and gentle pressing; the extracted must is cooled to 5°C and clarified to ensure absolute clarity before fermentation at a controlled temperature. The entire process culminates with maturation in stainless steel at around 10°C, aimed at preserving the original fragrance. The bouquet releases pronounced notes of peach, pineapple, acacia flowers and citrus, enriched by a subtle mineral touch, leading to a persistent finish.

History and Curiosities

Villa Angela Chardonnay tells the story of the passion of the Velenosi winery, founded in 1984 on the hills of the Marche region. Born from carefully selected vineyards between Ascoli Piceno and Ripatransone, situated at an altitude of 200-300 metres, this elegant white reflects the expertise of a company dedicated to excellence. The grapes are hand-picked at the end of September in small crates, then undergo a delicate cryomaceration. The meticulous ageing in steel at 10°C preserves its fragrant aromatic profile, offering a fresh and harmonious sip.
