Description

What kind of wine it is

Champagne 1er Cru Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature by Sadi Malot is a refined sparkling wine made using the Traditional Method. This cuvée exclusively showcases Chardonnay, offering an aromatic bouquet that blends elegant floral notes with distinct mineral and yeast hints. In the glass, it displays a straw yellow colour enhanced by golden reflections and a fine perlage. On the palate, it is fresh and harmonious, finishing with a long and well-balanced aftertaste.

Where it comes from

This Blanc de Blancs originates in the village of Villers-Marmery, within the Montagne de Reims. The influence of the terroir defines a rigorous structure, highlighting the Premier Cru classification of the vineyards. The Sadi Malot winery manages the vines following sustainable principles, transferring the authenticity of the soil into the wine. The sensory profile is deepened by the addition of reserve wines kept in a Solera system started in 1982, which brings an unmistakable harmonious complexity.

How it is produced

As a pas dosé, its production does not include the addition of sugars during dosage, favouring a pure and vertical style. The blend benefits from reserve wines aged in steel vats, which are constantly renewed. The wine then matures on the lees for four years in the maison's cellars, a crucial period to enrich its structure. Served at the ideal temperature, it pairs beautifully with scallops, shellfish and grilled fish, balancing the savouriness of the dishes with its pronounced freshness.

History and Curiosities

Produced in Villers-Marmery by the Sadi Malot winery, this refined Champagne Premier Cru Blanc de Blancs expresses the true purity of Chardonnay through a rigorous pas dosé approach. The excellence of this cuvée lies in its meticulous four-year ageing and the use of 35% reserve wines, stored in steel with a precious solera system started in 1982. This historic technique, combined with the artisanal care of the vineyards, gives the glass a harmonious complexity and a vibrant freshness, faithfully celebrating the terroir.

It all began with Socrates Malot, the founder of Sadi Champagne. As a tribute to his brother Sadi, so called because he was born on the day Sadi Carnot (French president from 1887 to 1894) was assassinated and died during the First World War, he gave his company and his son this historically significant name.

Today, his great-grandson carries on the name and continues to work with his father.
