Description
What kind of wine it is
Monte Rossa Franciacorta P.R. Blanc De Blancs Brut is a sparkling wine made from Chardonnay grapes, a true expression of its territory. This Blanc de Blancs is created from a blend of wines from the finest crus and a reserve component, crafted according to the Traditional Method. The profile is dry and fresh, characterised by a creamy mousse and a fine perlage. On the nose, notes of loquat, Golden apple, elderflower and green almond emerge. On the palate, it offers a structured balance between fruity notes, citrus hints and a pleasant savoury streak, finishing with a clean and persistent aftertaste.
Where it comes from
This sparkling wine has its roots in Franciacorta, in an area between Adro, Iseo and Cazzago San Martino. The vines thrive on moraine-glacial soils with sandy and clayey elements, essential for imparting savouriness and freshness to the wine. The grapes come from various crus, managed with a training system alternating between spur-pruned cordon and Guyot. This wine expression pays homage to the founders of Monte Rossa, reflecting the authenticity of a hilly region capable of delivering complex and well-defined aromatic profiles.
How it is produced
Production begins with a rigorous manual harvest, followed by gentle pressing to extract only the free-run must. To preserve the identity of the vineyards, vinification takes place separately for each cru. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks and in oak barrels, giving structure and precision to the final blend. Afterwards, the wine rests in the bottle for over twenty-four months of lees ageing, an essential stage of the Traditional Method that ensures a compact mousse and an elegantly almondy aftertaste.
History and Curiosities
Created to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the winery, Monte Rossa P.R. Brut is a prestigious commemorative cuvée dedicated to the pioneers Paola Rovetta and Paolo Rabotti. This refined Blanc de Blancs embodies a constant pursuit of harmony, skilfully blending Chardonnay from the finest crus with exquisite reserve wines. Thanks to over 24 months of ageing on the lees, it offers a memorable sip that honours the history of those who founded the Franciacorta Consortium. An absolute excellence capable of seducing the most discerning palates, awarded 90/100 by Robert Parker.
