Description

What kind of wine it is

Hubert Lignier Saint Romain Blanc is a still white wine from Burgundy. Made from Chardonnay, it appears in the glass with a straw yellow colour and golden highlights. On the nose, it reveals an elegant bouquet, defined by floral and fruity aromas. On the palate, it stands out for its fresh savouriness, ensuring an easy-drinking experience that culminates in a pleasantly persistent finish. Thanks to its ageing potential, it can evolve for several years. It is ideal for accompanying shellfish, lean fish, poultry and vegetarian dishes.

Where it comes from

This wine is produced in France, in the prestigious Burgundy region, within Saint Romain. The vineyards are tended by Hubert Lignier with a deep respect for the soils. To encourage the vitality of microorganisms and maintain a healthy ecosystem for the vines, the soils are regularly ploughed. This meticulous agricultural approach is essential for imparting the wine with the distinctive savoury note and elegance typical of this renowned production area.

How it is produced

The production process is based on rigorous and attentive agronomic management. The estate has long favoured mechanical soil cultivation, eliminating the use of invasive chemicals to protect the land. This approach has been reinforced by the adoption of organic treatments, aimed at preserving the natural balance of the vine. This mindful viticulture allows for the production of grapes of remarkable quality, resulting in a clean, vibrant sip with great expressive finesse.

History and Curiosities

The Hubert Lignier Saint Romain Blanc 2022 originates in Burgundy from the dedication of a father and his son. In managing their nine hectares of vineyard, the producers have banned the use of herbicides since the 1990s, preferring ploughing that respects the natural vocation of the soils. Since 2011, they have adopted strict organic protective treatments, a virtuous choice aimed at preserving microorganisms and the perfect balance of the vine. This love for the land enhances the AOC Saint Romain, offering a pure Chardonnay of vibrant elegance.

From this winery
The duet father and son Hubert and Laurent Lignier manage 9 hectares and make 24 wines (Bourgogne, village, premier and grand cru appellations). Our vineyards are ploughed sinced 1990s, excluding weedkiller and insecticides. Our "climates" and great terroirs’ soils are firmly respected in order to favour microorganism and therefore the essential balance for the vine’s growth. Since 2011, we use organic protective treatments. Read more
