Description
Still red Barolo DOCG, 14% ABV, produced by Gaja, one of Italy's most renowned wineries, founded in 1859. 100% Nebbiolo blend, 0.75L bottle, 2014 vintage. A Barolo that embodies the excellence of Piedmont, a wine that tells the story of a region and a family that has shaped the history of Italian wine. Aged in barriques and large barrels. The bouquet is seductive: a potpourri of red flowers, followed by cherries and black cherries, berries, and aromas of fern and camphor, blending with darker notes of earth and roots, licorice, and fine spices. The palate is the embodiment of Conteisa, taut and elegant, harmonious and expressive, with supremely classy tannins. The finish is like quicksilver, long, lively, and varied. An ideal pairing with meat dishes, aged cheeses, and game.
