Description
What kind of wine it is
Foss Marai Surfiner Cuvee Brut is a sparkling wine from Veneto with a clear and refined profile. Made from a blend of Chardonnay, Glera and Sauvignon Blanc, it displays a bright straw yellow colour. The bouquet reveals notes of yellow fruit and wildflowers, enriched by a fresh hint of pepper. On the palate, it is noticeably full-bodied, with a persistent and pleasant finish. Thanks to its harmony, it pairs perfectly with rich first courses, cheeses and various shellfish dishes.
Where it comes from
This sparkling wine is produced in Veneto, in the heart of the Valdobbiadene area, a region renowned for wines with great aromatic purity. Foss Marai leads production through rigorous viticultural research. The winery's approach focuses on the use of natural yeasts and the constant refinement of production techniques. Through careful selection and a strong commitment to sustainability, the brand guarantees an excellent quality standard.
How it is produced
The secondary fermentation takes place using the Charmat method, an ideal process to enhance the freshness of varietal aromas. After vinification, part of the blend rests in small barrels for less than six months, benefiting from natural micro-oxygenation, while the remaining portion matures in steel tanks in contact with the lees. The combination of these techniques gives the wine greater volume and a precise taste structure. The result is a harmonious Brut, able to combine pleasant drinkability with long persistence.
History and Curiosities
