Description
What kind of spirit is this?
Fior di Pistacchio by Cevico is an Italian pistachio cream liqueur crafted by blending natural pistachio paste with fresh cream, alcohol, water, and sugar. This liqueur offers a thick and velvety texture with a mildly sweet, smooth profile, supported by a well-integrated alcoholic warmth at 17% ABV. The aroma is highly focused on the primary ingredient, delivering clear notes of roasted pistachio alongside delicate hints of cream and light vanilla.
Geographical origin
Originating from the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, this cream liqueur is produced by Cevico, a cooperative established in 1961. The regional identity strongly influences the sensory profile, which focuses on confectionery-style flavours where dairy richness is balanced by moderate alcohol. Pouring this liqueur reveals a bright light green colour enhanced by a subtle creamy sheen, visually reflecting its authentic pistachio and cream base.
Production process
The production process begins by transforming selected nuts into a concentrated paste, capturing their authentic aromatic character. This base undergoes a gentle blending process with fresh cream, alcohol, water, and sugar to carefully preserve the natural nut aromas. The mixture is then allowed to rest—a crucial step to harmonise its flavour and texture. To fully appreciate its dense consistency and the clean, persistent finish, it should be shaken well and served chilled at 3–5 °C.
