Description
Grappa Riserva from Friuli-Venezia Giulia, 50% ABV, produced by Domenis 1898. A spirit that captivates with its distinct and sincere aromas, the fruit of careful selection and lengthy maturation. Founded in 1898, each generational transition has enhanced tradition, sparking innovations born from a deepening understanding of the production process and the raw materials used. Thus, in 1986, with brothers Silvano and Pietro Domenis at the stills, Storica was born, the spirit that cemented Domenis's reputation as a synonym for quality, a standard-bearer of Made in Italy, an expression of the culture and tradition of our country and a unique territory. Distillation is carried out in a batch plant with eight copper stills, using direct steam. The use of low-temperature direct steam (just over 100°C), blown into the base of the stills, allows the extraction of volatile compounds from the pomace without damaging them, especially the aromatic ones. After careful selection of the final batches, the grappa is aged in antique oak barrels, a type of wood that releases its characteristic amber color even when reused. A blend of grappas aged for at least 18 months is then created, some younger, others aged in wood for several years. This is always followed by careful maturation in stainless steel tanks. It captivates with its assertive and sincere aromas. Amber in color. It lingers on the palate with a characteristic intensity, elegant in its persistence and the finesse of its olfactory notes.

Domenis also offers its experience in sustaining national and regional appreciation of grappa: Domenis Silvano, president for 25 years of the Consortium for the Protection of Grappa Friulana, cooperates with the European Council regulation bodies which in 1989 restricted the use of the name "grappa" only to grape pomace distillates produced in Italy. Now the fourth generation of the Cividale del Friuli family, under the mnagement of Cristina Domenis, marks this moment of further growth.
Our organisation has new goals: the grafting of new skills, a growing sensitivity to environmental protection, systems for quality control, and a market approach that explores new ways to drink grappa. Read more
