Description
What kind of wine it is
Monfort Cuvée Brut is a sparkling wine from the Trento area, produced using the rigorous Traditional Method. Made from Chardonnay grapes, it displays a straw yellow colour with a fine and persistent perlage. The bouquet is clean and stands out for its intense pineapple nuances. On the palate, it offers a dry and fragrant sip, revealing itself as full, harmonious and balanced, thanks to a vibrant savouriness.
Where it comes from
This cuvée originates from hillside vineyards located between Trento and Pergine Valsugana, with plots in the areas of Lavis and Meano. Altitudes ranging from 350 to 600 metres provide an ideal climate for preserving the freshness of the grapes. The franco-sandy soils, enriched with calcareous and clay components, shape the character of the terroir. In this mountainous environment, the Monfort winery imparts remarkable precision of flavour to the sparkling wine.
How it is produced
The harvest is carried out with a rigorous manual selection of the bunches. After an initial fermentation at a controlled temperature, the wine rests for several months on fine lees between steel tanks and French oak barrels. The secondary fermentation takes place in the bottle using the Traditional Method, initiating a twenty-four month maturation on the lees with the traditional remuage on pupitres. The process concludes with disgorgement and the addition of the liqueur d’expédition in Brut style.
History and Curiosities
The sparkling wine tradition of Cantine Monfort, founded by the Simoni family in 1945, finds its highest expression in a visionary project launched in 1985. This refined Trento DOC embodies the vocation of the region, transforming selected hillside Chardonnay grapes into a Classic Method wine of absolute prestige. The elegance of these bubbles is born from deep dedication and culminates in a rigorous 24-month maturation on the lees with the traditional remuage on pupitre. An authentic excellence, celebrated by renowned wine guides such as Bibenda and Veronelli.
