Description

What kind of wine it is

Ca’ del Bosco Pinero is a still red wine that precisely expresses the elegance of Pinot Noir in Lombardy. Its structure reveals a perfect balance between the fruity component and a silky tannic texture, outlining a harmonious and refined profile. Careful ageing in wood enriches the bouquet, adding depth without overpowering the grape variety’s identity. This wine finds its highest expression when paired with meat dishes, flavourful pork-based preparations and cheese selections, especially if allowed to breathe for about an hour before serving.

Where it comes from

The grapes come from six dedicated Pinot Noir vineyards, cultivated in the areas of Erbusco and Corte Franca. The vineyards, with an average age of 35 years, are rooted in the Sebino area, ensuring high-quality raw material. The combination of these different plots allows for the creation of a territorial blend capable of merging complementary organoleptic nuances. This rigorous vineyard management yields a red wine with great aromatic precision, faithfully reflecting the potential of its native soil.

How it is produced

The production process begins with the manual harvesting of the bunches, which are cooled and washed using a gentle hydromassage system. Vinification uses gravity to preserve the integrity of the must. Fermentation and maceration last for 17 days, with daily punch-downs and pump-overs to encourage a calibrated extraction of colour and substance. Subsequently, the wine matures for 11 months in small oak barrels, partly new and made from long-seasoned wood, completing its evolution with a final ageing of over two years before tasting.

History and Curiosities

Pinèro 2022 enhances the elegance of Pinot Noir Sebino IGT, produced from 35-year-old vines located between Erbusco and Corte Franca. The excellence of the Ca’ del Bosco method is showcased in the exclusive “grape spa”, where hand-picked bunches receive a gentle hydromassage wash. A meticulous gravity-fed vinification preserves the integrity of the must during the 17 days of maceration. The harmony of this fine red is defined through 11 months of ageing in small oak barrels and a long period of rest in the bottle, which shapes its impeccable structure.

Ca' del Bosco is the mainstay of the Franciacorta terroir. The Ca' del Bosco wineries were founded in the mid-1960s by Annamaria Clementi Zanella, who bought a modest house of the same name in Erbusco, which was endowed with vineyards and woods. However, her son, Maurizio Zanella, started wine production, enhancing the terroir's characteristics and transforming that small house into one of Italy's most productive wineries. In fact, these cellars are distinguished for producing the famousCa' del Bosco sparkling wine, which is characterised by its elegant yet strong personality given by intense, juicy aromas and fullness of flavour. Today Ca' del Bosco is a well-established business, producing numerous labels, including still wines, both red and white, and Franciacorta for which Xtrawine has reserved a place of honour. You can choose from bottles of the best vintages from 2008 with an ageing capacity of between 15 and 25 years that will bring out the best in all your dishes: from pasta to fish and shellfish to dessert, the fruity notes will envelop your palate with every sip.
