Description
What kind of wine it is
The Cuvée dei Frati Dosaggio Zero from Ca’ dei Frati is a sparkling wine crafted using the Traditional Method, capable of expressing the authentic freshness of its region. Created from a blend of Turbiana and Chardonnay grapes, it shines in the glass with a bright golden yellow colour, crossed by a fine and continuous perlage. The bouquet offers notes of bread crust, biscuit and fresh fruit. On the palate, it reveals a silky and creamy effervescence, balanced by a lively acidity that encourages drinking, finishing with elegant hints of hazelnut.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in Lombardy, on the southern shores of Lake Garda, specifically in Lugana di Sirmione. The estate’s vineyards grow on calcareous-clay soils, essential for giving the sparkling base a pronounced structure and clear flavour definition. The vines, cultivated using single and double Guyot training, reflect the vocation of a region with an ancient history. The Dal Cero family leads the winery, enhancing the Garda microclimate, a commitment that is directly reflected in the wine’s elegant texture and freshness on the palate.
How it is produced
Vinification begins with the direct pressing of the bunches and fermentation in stainless steel, without malolactic fermentation to preserve the must’s natural liveliness. The prise de mousse in bottle follows the principles of the Traditional Method, with a slow maturation on the lees for about 36 months, which imparts great aromatic depth. After disgorgement, the wine rests in bottle for a further 4 months. The absence of added sugars defines the wine’s pas dosé character, resulting in a dry, crisp sip with an extremely savoury progression.

It was in 1939 when Felice Dal Cero, son of Domenico, already a winemaker in Montecchia Crosara in Verona, moved in that house, Lugana of Sirmione, sensing immediately the wine-growing area.
After 30 years of work in the vineyard and winery in 1969, his son Peter participated in the creation of Doc started to bottle its first Lugana Casa dei Frati label.
Today, with his wife Santa Rosa cultural heritage has been passed on to children Igino, Gian Franco and Anna Maria who run the company with the same passion and determination.
Mutual respect, the union of the family, defined roles and the link to their territory on the shores of Lake Garda, represent the true strength of the Dal Cero family
