Description
What kind of wine it is
Barone Pizzini Franciacorta Satèn is an organic and vegan sparkling wine that best expresses the winemaking vocation of Lombardy. Made from Chardonnay grapes using the Traditional Method, it stands out for its distinctive Satèn style which, thanks to its gentle pressure, offers an elegant and silky drinking experience. This interpretation of Brut sparkling wine skilfully balances a creamy texture with a fine and persistent perlage. On the palate, it combines a structured body with a fresh softness, making it an extremely versatile glass to accompany delicate starters, fish dishes, white meats and fine cheeses.
Where it comes from
This sparkling wine originates in the heart of Franciacorta, from the historic vineyards of Clogna, Carabioli and Ronchi. The vines grow at an altitude between 220 and 260 metres, sinking their roots into morainic soils. The terroir features fluvioglacial deposits and an abundant, permeable gravelly subsoil, together with deep alluvial valley floors. This particular soil composition gives the wine a persistent minerality and a clean flavour profile. Operating over sixty hectares, Barone Pizzini has been enhancing the characteristics of the land since 1870, maintaining an environmentally respectful approach.
How it is produced
Vinification begins with gentle pressing of the bunches, followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine then undergoes ageing for about ten months between steel and barrels, a process designed to consolidate the structure without introducing pronounced woody notes. The refermentation follows the rules of the Traditional Method, which involves ageing on the lees in the bottle for a period between thirty and forty months. In the glass, it presents a straw yellow colour with golden highlights, revealing a broad aromatic bouquet with notes of dried apricot, hazelnut, citrus and resin. On the palate, the carbonic component is silky and well integrated.

This fascinating 2021 Edition, enriched by an erudite quotation from Leonardo da Vinci, captures the unrepeatable expression of a unique vintage.
