Description

What kind of wine it is

Franciacorta Animante Dosaggio Zero by Barone Pizzini is an organic sparkling wine produced using the Traditional Method, an authentic expression of its region. This elegant blend combines Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc and Erbamat, offering a straw yellow colour in the glass, animated by a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, it evokes floral and citrus notes, intertwined with hints of acacia honey, apricot, dried fruit and aromatic herbs. On the palate, it reveals a lively structure, characterised by a pleasant creaminess. The finish stands out for its clear savoury imprint, making the wine ideal for pairing with raw seafood and sushi or fresh cheeses.

Where it comes from

This wine originates in Franciacorta, Lombardy, from vineyards spread across Provaglio d’Iseo, Passirano, Cortefranca, Adro, Capriolo and Cologne. The moraine and gravel soils, deep and well-drained, give the grapes a distinctive character. The fluvioglacial soils, rich in permeable stones, allow the vines to develop a clear aromatic profile. Barone Pizzini applies the principles of organic viticulture, managing the vineyard with full respect for the ecosystem to obtain healthy grapes capable of reflecting all the natural nuances of this renowned terroir.

How it is produced

The production process begins with the separate vinification of the grapes to enhance the identity of each parcel. After gentle pressing, the must ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Maturation continues for several months between steel and barrels, promoting a perfect structural balance. The prise de mousse follows the rules of the Traditional Method, with a slow ageing on the lees lasting from twenty to forty months, enriching the cuvée. Periodic disgorgements enhance the expressive freshness, while the choice of zero dosage preserves the verticality and purity of this Franciacorta pas dosé.

History and Curiosities

Animante represents the soul of Barone Pizzini, crowning a pioneering vision that gave rise to the first organic experience in Franciacorta. The grapes, sourced from twenty-five estate-owned vineyards, are vinified separately to enhance every nuance. The strict respect for the environment continues in the modern winery, equipped with photovoltaic panels and natural climate control systems. Here, the ninety thousand bottles produced each year are matured, their excellence guaranteed by eight regular disgorgements carried out between October and September.
