Founded in 1898 by Salvatore Contini, it is today an absolute excellence within the Sardinian wine landscape. The company is located in Cabras in the Sinis peninsula, just a few steps from the Phoenician-Punic city of Tharros, the village of San Salvatore and the archaeological site of "Sa Osa", where were found grape seeds dating back to 2000 BC. Which are the oldest witness of the cultivation of the vine in Sardinia. The experience and the strength of generations Contini produce an excellent wine, the company's diamond tip or Vernaccia. The wine has received important awards: gold medal at the Milan Exposition of 1912 and 1913 and first Sardinian wine to win the Three Glasses of the Red Gambero in 1989.
But the path of oenological experimentation does not stop. Contini products are Vermentino and Cannonau, Nieddera of the homonymous vine and Mamaioa wines, natural added wines without sulphites. The most excellent result of this experimentation is represented by Karmis, a unique wine of its kind, obtained from a wise mixture of Vernaccia and Vermentino grapes.
Contini is a strong company in its history but with an eye on innovation. This concept along with that of "sardine" accompanies every bottle of Contini wine in the local, national and international market.
