Description

Whether used to prepare classic cocktails like Gin and Tonic, or enjoyed neat or on the rocks, Botanic Premium Gin from Bodega Williams & Humbert represents a spirit of the highest quality. The prestigious winery—founded by enthusiasts Sir Alexander Williams and Arthur Humbert in 1877—produces this dry gin at its facilities in Jerez de la Frontera, in southern Spain; facilities among the largest in Europe, consisting of a complex of interconnected buildings that extend over an area of 180,000 square meters. This Andalusian region enjoys a particularly favorable microclimate thanks also to the presence of the Guadalquivir and Guadalete rivers, which make this spirit an ideal ingredient for refined cocktail parties, whether classic or more innovative. In short: versatility and tradition are a trademark when choosing this gin. Botanic Premium Gin is made using high-quality English wheat, handcrafted triple distilled according to the traditional English system with Crysopea, in stills over a hundred years old, in a vacuum bain-marie. Another secret to its success is the botanicals used: among the ingredients used during the preparation are coriander seeds, lemon, juniper berries, licorice root, sweet orange, almonds, and finally the so-called "Buddha's hand," a particular type of citron.

The winery still retains wines and brandy that date back to the time of its foundation and obtained the National Architecture Award.

The vineyards belonging to the company are located in the triangle formed by Jerez de la Frontera, Puerto di Santa Maria and Sanlucar di Barrameda, an area that enjoys a particular and favourable microclimate due to the presence of the Guadalquivir and Guadalete rivers.

On the global scene, Williams & Humbert is developing an ambitious program of diversification of the high quality agri-food sector. Among the most innovative projects, there are the Rum Dos Maderas that are made and partially aged in the Caribbean, and then transferred to Jerez where they end up maturing.

Respecting the most important values of tradition, the strategic plan of Williams & Humbert develops with great creative vitality and a strong spirit of modernization; the great tenacity and the innovative drive, always linked, however, to the values of tradition, represent its spirit.
