Description
What kind of wine it is
Vie di Romans Flors di Uis is a still white wine from Friuli-Venezia Giulia, a true expression of Friuli Isonzo. This harmonious blend combines Malvasia Istriana, Friulano and Riesling in an enveloping style, characterised by a pleasant creamy smoothness. The aromatic profile opens with distinct notes of orange and lychee, enriched by cloves and floral hints of rose and lime blossom. On the palate, it is structured and well-balanced, offering a satisfying sip that pairs perfectly with fish, shellfish and the spiced dishes of Asian cuisine.
Where it comes from
The grapes grow in Mariano del Friuli, close to the Gulf of Trieste, in the Friuli Isonzo area. The Mediterranean climate tempers the entire region, giving the wine a full character and defined aromas. The vineyards are rooted in well-drained soils rich in stones, characterised by a reddish silty-clay fraction due to typical iron and aluminium oxides. Low yields and the simple Guyot training system result in the glass in a solid balanced structure and a persistent smoothness on the palate.
How it is produced
Harvesting is carried out in several stages to accommodate the different ripening times of each grape variety. The temperature-controlled fermentation lasts for forty days between 16 and 19°C, a technical choice aimed at preserving aromatic precision and expressive clarity. Afterwards, the wine undergoes a targeted maturation in bottle for eleven months. This resting phase enhances its complexity, enriching the typical smooth texture and giving the palate a delightful creamy sensation.
History and Curiosities
The Vie di Romans Flor di Uis 2024 originates in Mariano del Friuli, just a few kilometres from the Gulf of Trieste, where the mild climate bestows this white wine with a distinctive Mediterranean character. This elegant cuvée harmoniously blends Friulano, Malvasia Istriana and Riesling, cultivated on reddish, well-drained soils. Meticulous vinification and a valuable 11-month bottle ageing result in a refined Friuli Isonzo DOC, capable of expressing itself in the glass through a warm and enveloping structure.
