Description
What kind of wine it is
Tramin Muller Thurgau from Cantina Tramin is a semi-aromatic white wine that encapsulates all the energy of South Tyrol. Made from Müller Thurgau grapes, it appears in the glass with a straw yellow colour and greenish highlights. The bouquet offers a refined aroma, characterised by herbaceous notes and a delicate hint of nutmeg. On the palate, it is fresh and lively, with an aromatic vibrancy that makes it ideal for accompanying aperitifs, fresh cheeses, white meats and seafood specialities.
Where it comes from
The roots of this wine lie in Termeno, where the vineyards of South Tyrol reach up to eight hundred and fifty metres above sea level. The calcareous soils are marked by a pronounced clay and gravel composition. The environment is defined by a marked temperature range, where the Mediterranean warmth of the day alternates with cool Alpine breezes at night. This pedoclimatic balance encourages optimal grape development, giving the wine a naturally vibrant freshness on the palate.
How it is produced
Production begins with a careful manual harvest at the end of summer. After immediate gentle pressing, the must ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. To preserve the natural acidic tension and freshness, malolactic fermentation is not carried out. Ageing continues in the same steel containers, a choice that allows the wine to define an essential profile and maintain its varietal precision over time.
History and Curiosities
This Müller Thurgau DOC Alto Adige from Cantina Tramin originates in Termeno from vineyards situated between 500 and 850 metres. The calcareous and gravelly soils benefit from a wide temperature range, created by the meeting of Mediterranean warmth and cool Alpine breezes. Thanks to a meticulous manual harvest at the end of summer, the grapes arrive at the winery perfectly intact. Gentle pressing and maturation in stainless steel, without malolactic fermentation, enhance its freshness and liveliness, ensuring the wine evolves excellently over the following 3-5 years.
