Description
What kind of wine it is
The Merus Sauvignon Blanc by Tiefenbrunner is a still white wine that expresses the essence of Alto Adige. Made from Sauvignon Blanc grapes, it offers an enveloping aromatic interplay of nettle and elderflower, enriched by hints of sage and mint. On the palate, it reveals a fresh and mineral sip, balanced by a lively finish. Thanks to its elegant profile, it is the ideal choice to accompany vegetarian dishes, asparagus, white fish and goat's cheese.
Where it comes from
The roots of this wine lie in the renowned sites of Penone and Niclara. In these prime areas, the vineyards stretch at an altitude between 290 and 500 metres, cultivated using the pergola and Guyot training systems. Tiefenbrunner has managed its own vineyards with dedication for five generations. The planting density ensures optimal ripening of the grapes, allowing the unique characteristics of the terroir to be fully expressed in the glass.
How it is produced
Vinification involves temperature-controlled fermentation in cement vats, a technique that preserves the natural fragrance of the varietal aromas. Afterwards, the blend matures on fine lees for four months, gaining complexity and structure before bottling. Care in the cellar is ensured by a limited yield, guaranteeing a final result that is extremely linear and true to the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety.
