Description
What kind of wine it is
Terre di Tufi Bianco expresses the soul of Teruzzi. This blend of white grapes combines Vernaccia, Trebbiano, Vermentino, Chardonnay and Sauvignon under the renowned Tuscan denomination. On the palate, it is dry, revealing a full and rounded profile. The lively savouriness blends with aromas of ripe peach and tropical fruit, while the skilful use of wood brings delicate hints of vanilla leading towards a typical and persistent almond finish.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from the historic area of San Gimignano, a territory that has always been suited to viticulture. The vineyards take root in mineral soils that give the wine its distinct savoury vein. The climate, characterised by cold winters and hot summers, provides precious nocturnal temperature variations that favour the perfect and slow ripening of the bunches. These peculiar environmental conditions guarantee a natural freshness and keep the expressive intensity typical of the terroir intact.
How it is produced
Processing begins with a soft pressing of the grapes, followed by temperature-controlled fermentation in steel and barrels with selected yeasts. This is followed by ageing in barrels for approximately four or five months, alternating the use of new wood with second-passage wood. This method harmonises the fragrance of the fruits with light toasted notes. Finally, the structure of the wine is balanced by a pleasant acidity and a low residual sugar content, which enhance its overall balance.
