Description
What type of wine it is
The Lagrein Rosé Tradition from Cantina Terlano is a still rosé wine with the Alto Adige designation, vinified in steel, which elegantly expresses the character of Lagrein. In the glass, it presents a bright light pink appearance, embellished with delicate salmon reflections. The olfactory profile reveals a distinct fruity character, with clear hints of raspberry and strawberry and a subtle touch of black cherry. On the palate, it is vinous, soft, and harmonious, supported by a lively freshness that provides dynamism and excellent drinkability. This balanced sip makes it ideal for accompanying light starters, fresh cheeses, or a beef tartare.
Where it comes from
This rosé is born near Bolzano, among the evocative Alpine landscapes of Terlano. The vineyards are situated at an altitude between 250 and 280 metres, with south-facing exposures to maximise solar radiation. The temperate continental climate plays a fundamental role: the Alpine peaks protect the vines from cold northern currents, while the valley welcomes mild Mediterranean influences. The marked temperature fluctuations between day and night, combined with the action of winds such as the Föhn and the warm Ora del Garda, ensure the perfect health of the bunches, giving the wine a distinct aromatic purity.
How it is produced
The production process begins with a careful manual harvest. This is followed by a gentle pressing of the whole bunches and a short maceration on the skins, an essential step for precisely extracting the pink hue and primary aromas. After clarification of the must, fermentation takes place slowly in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. To provide roundness and balance, the wine rests while ageing on the lees for several months; this technical choice preserves the natural fruity vocation of the grape variety and ensures its pleasantness on the palate.
