Description

What kind of wine it is

Greco di Tufo Goleto Riserva by Tenute Capaldo is a still white wine with a golden hue, an authentic and structured expression of the Greco di Tufo grape. This wine of refined elegance reveals distinctive acacia flower aromas intertwined with clear mineral notes on the nose. On the palate, it is pleasant, delicate and balanced, offering a harmonious sip that ideally accompanies dishes of white fish and mature cheeses.

Where it comes from

This wine originates from the vineyards of San Paolo, in Campania, an area renowned for viticulture. The vines grow at an altitude between three hundred and four hundred metres above sea level, benefiting from optimal exposure to the south and south-east. These soil and climate conditions define the clear aromatic personality of the grapes. The result of a project aimed at enhancing native grape varieties, the estate applies organic and sustainable practices, highlighting the strong connection with the Campanian region and the authenticity of the original terroir.

How it is produced

Production begins with a manual harvest usually carried out in October, in order to select the best bunches. The resulting must undergoes fermentation in stainless steel tanks, preserving its cleanliness and aromatic integrity. The ageing process lasts a year and is skilfully divided between the use of gently toasted barrels and amphorae. This technical combination enriches the structure of the wine, which completes its development with a further rest in the bottle.

History and Curiosities

Inspired by the historic Abbey of Goleto, this prestigious Greco di Tufo DOCG Riserva celebrates the authentic winemaking essence of Irpinia. Commissioned by Antonio Capaldo to enhance the native Campanian grape varieties, this wine is produced from hand-picked grapes in San Paolo, in full compliance with strict organic and sustainable practices. This refined limited production of only 7,830 bottles encapsulates timeless elegance, confirmed by prestigious international awards that certify its absolute excellence and extraordinary finesse on the palate.
