Description
What type of wine it is
Le Rive di Suavia is a still organic white wine from the Veneto region with a typical geographical indication (IGT), an expression of Bianco Veronese obtained from the Garganega variety and vinified in barrels and steel. The sensory profile reveals a silky texture, supported by an evident mineral structure that gives momentum to the sip, guiding it towards a long and savoury finish. The aromatic bouquet opens with hints of tropical fruit, candied citrus and delicate white flowers, enriched with sweet spices such as star anise and cardamom. This olfactory weave is embellished with elegant smoky notes reminiscent of vanilla tobacco and incense.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in Veneto in Fittà, in the heart of the Soave Classico area, from a historic plot named Riva precisely because of its extremely steep slopes. The vineyard, south-facing at an altitude of 260 metres, is home to eighty-year-old vines whose roots reach deep into a soil of volcanic origin with a silty-clay texture. This complex geological matrix translates into an unmistakable vibrant character in the glass. The Suavia winery cultivates these lands following a rigorous organic certification, meticulously studying the expressions of the territory.
How it is produced
The production process begins at the end of October with a careful manual late harvest. Vinification continues with twenty days of alcoholic fermentation in large French oak barrels at a controlled temperature. After a spontaneous malolactic fermentation in small barrels, the wine rests for fifteen months between wood and steel, remaining in close contact with the fine lees and without any racking. Following the creation of the blend in the tank, the wine benefits from a further period in steel, followed by a single filtration and a slow bottle ageing lasting twelve months.

Our family has been living and cultivating the land since the nineteenth century in Fittà: a small rural village mounted like a precious stone on the hills of Soave Classico. The history of Suavia however began later, in 1982, when Giovanni and Rosetta (the father and mother), aware of the great potential of their area, decided to set up on their own and make their mark, crushing their grapes and making their own wine.
Today we three sisters, Meri, Valentina and Alessandra, carry on the family tradition and run the winery always working here in Fittà, where it all started. Read more
