Description
What kind of wine it is
Le Baròncole - Chianti Classico Riserva by San Giusto a Rentennano is a full-bodied organic red wine crafted to stand the test of time. This captivating blend is born from the union of Sangiovese and Canaiolo Nero grapes, which give the glass an intense garnet colour. On the palate, it is distinguished by a powerful sip, supported by well-integrated tannins and a vibrant freshness. The overall balance between the different components delivers a finish of long persistence, enriched by elegant smoky nuances.
Where it comes from
This Chianti Classico has its roots in Gaiole in Chianti, in the heart of the Sienese countryside. The identity of this Riserva faithfully reflects the pedoclimatic characteristics of the soils of the San Giusto a Rentennano estate. The property stands on the remains of an ancient Cistercian monastery, a place steeped in history that today houses the estate's cellars. Thanks to its deep connection with the surrounding environment, the vineyards offer a pure and authentic expression of the Tuscan terroir.
How it is produced
The grape bunches undergo a rigorous selection during the harvest. Fermentation and maceration take place in steel and cement vats for about eighteen to twenty days. Afterwards, the wine matures in French oak barrels for a period ranging from sixteen to twenty months, concluding the process with a further six months of ageing. This process shapes a complex aromatic bouquet, in which notes of graphite, humus, cherry and nutmeg stand out, enhanced by hints of flint, tobacco and juniper.
