Description
What kind of wine is it
Remi Leroy Champagne Extra Brut is a refined French sparkling wine. This blend combines Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier in a glass of clear straw-yellow colour. Produced using the Traditional Method, it offers fragrant fruity and floral aromas enriched by hints of yeast. The tasting is distinguished by a fine perlage, revealing a dry, fresh and vibrant sip. Its excellent balance makes it ideal for accompanying starters, cheeses and shellfish.
Where does it come from
It originates in Champagne from vines grown under organic management. Rémi Leroy's estate stretches across strict clay-limestone soils of the Upper Jurassic, divided between Kimmeridgian slopes and Portlandian plateaus. The poverty of these soils naturally regulates plant growth, ensuring low yields and an unmistakable territorial typicity. This particular mineral balance imparts the grapes with an authentic and pure expressiveness.
How is it produced
The process follows the Traditional Method, relying on minimal intervention to respect nature's imprint. The cuvée is enriched with fine reserve wines that provide greater structural depth. A low dosage defines the Extra Brut character, ensuring a taut drink and a clear sensation of dryness. Served chilled, it reveals an ageing potential capable of captivating the palate for several years.

The majority are on hillsides - the Kimmeridgian, which is also found in Chablis - but the particularity of the Meurville vintage, in addition to the thinness of the soil in general, lies in the presence on the plateau overlooking the village of Portlandien pure (an almost exclusive Champagne) offering even poorer soils.
On such supports where the vine must naturally suffer to ensure its growth, the viticulture practiced makes it possible to obtain fruits and juices of a remarkable typicity. Read more
