Description
What kind of wine it is
Via del Campo is a still white wine from Quintodecimo, a pure expression of the Falanghina grape variety within the Irpinia region. Characterised by a bright golden yellow colour, this wine stands out for its aromatic profile, where fruity scents of apple, banana and pineapple intertwine with pronounced saline nuances. On the palate, it reveals an enveloping structure, capable of releasing delicate menthol and toasted sensations that enrich the tasting experience.
Where it comes from
The vines grow in the heart of Campania in Mirabella Eclano, at an altitude of 150 metres above sea level. The vineyards, cultivated using the Guyot system with optimal west-facing exposure, are rooted in clay and limestone soils, ideal for imparting the wine with its marked mineral character. The planting density is 4,000 vines per hectare, with a low yield per plant. The grapes are harvested during the first ten days of October, reaching perfect ripeness to express the authentic identity of the Irpinian territory.
How it is produced
The production process involves a rigorous manual selection of the grapes on sorting tables, followed by gentle pressing and static decantation of the must. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures and is carried out partly in steel vats and partly in French oak barrels, ensuring precision and depth. An eight-month rest during the delicate ageing phase finally allows the wine to achieve full stability and expressive balance.
History and Curiosities
Born from the intuition of oenologist Luigi Moio, Quintodecimo Via del Campo is a pure and prestigious expression of Falanghina. This radiant 2023 vintage, offered in the generous Magnum format, delights the nose with intense aromas of pineapple and apple, interwoven with refined mineral nuances. Thanks to extremely low yields and careful partial fermentation in French oak barriques, the wine develops an enveloping and silky structure, where delicate toasted and mentholated notes enhance the palate, providing an unforgettable tasting experience.
