Description
What kind of wine is it
Giallo d’Arles is a white wine produced by Quintodecimo in the Greco di Tufo area. Made from Greco di Tufo grapes, it stands out for its powerful and structured profile, reminiscent of the fullness typical of a red wine. On the nose, it reveals notes of apricot, Annurca apple and gardenia, enhanced by hints of white pepper. On the palate, a deep mineral imprint emerges, accompanied by vibrant freshness, with a long-lasting finish and subtle smoky nuances. It is perfect paired with flavourful risottos and semi-mature cheeses.
Where does it come from
The grapes come from the Contrada Santa Lucia in Mirabella Eclano, Campania. The vineyards are located on steep slopes characterised by clay soils. The altitude and optimal sun exposure promote a pronounced aromatic intensity, while preserving the natural acidity of the grapes. The vines are trained using the Guyot system, ensuring a limited yield that concentrates the expressive richness of the fruit and reflects the authentic identity of the hilly terroir of origin.
How is it produced
After manual harvesting, the bunches are carefully selected and gently pressed. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in steel tanks and in small French oak barrels, a key step to enhance the wine’s complexity. This is followed by careful ageing on fine lees with regular bâtonnage, essential for imparting structure and volume. The process ends with bottling without any fining, a choice aimed at preserving the elegance of the sip and promoting excellent evolution over time.
History and Curiosities
