Description
What kind of wine it is
The Barbaresco Bric Turot by Prunotto is a red wine from Piedmont made from Nebbiolo grapes. In the glass, it displays an intense garnet red colour with elegant dark ruby highlights. The aromatic profile is complex and refined, with scents of liquorice, wild berries, violet, cinnamon and cloves. On the palate, it offers a structured drink, supported by enveloping tannins and a long finish of ripe fruit. It is an ideal pairing for roasts, game and mature cheeses.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in the municipality of Barbaresco, from a vineyard of the same name located near Alba. The terroir is characterised by silty marl soils from the Tortonian-Messinian period, rich in mineral elements such as manganese, zinc and boron, which provide an ideal environment for the cultivation of the grape variety. Prunotto interprets the natural characteristics of the area with great precision, enhancing the winegrowing vocation of this specific region.
How it is produced
The selected grapes are destemmed and crushed before starting the maceration, which lasts fifteen days at a controlled temperature to ensure optimal structural extraction. The malolactic fermentation is completed before winter, harmonising the flavour profiles. Maturation continues for at least twelve months in oak barrels of varying capacities. A final rest in the bottle in the estate's cellars perfects the overall balance of the wine before it is released to the market.
