Description
What kind of wine it is
Poggio Argentiera Ciliegiolo is a still red wine that clearly expresses the character of its territory. In the glass, it displays an intense ruby red colour, hinting at an aromatic profile centred on small red fruits, with distinct aromas of strawberry and raspberry. On the palate, it is smooth and enveloping, offering a well-balanced taste that finishes with a characteristic and pleasant slightly bitter aftertaste. This Tuscan red also demonstrates excellent longevity, capable of evolving in the cellar over time.
Where it comes from
This wine originates from the fascinating area of Maremma Toscana, a region that imparts a unique character to the grapes. The Poggio Argentiera estate carefully cultivates its vineyards in this protected corner of the region. A pure expression of the Ciliegiolo grape variety, the wine perfectly reflects the pedoclimatic peculiarities of an area historically renowned for quality wine production, fitting harmoniously into the prestigious local tradition.
How it is produced
The grapes are carefully processed to create a red wine capable of capturing the attention of critics and enthusiasts alike. To best appreciate its organoleptic qualities, a decanting time of about an hour and the correct serving temperature are recommended. At the table, its balanced profile makes it the ideal companion for red meat dishes, flavourful pork recipes, game preparations and mature cheeses.
History and Curiosities

The 15 acres (six hectares) of vineyards began to produce grapes for a Morellino di Scansano and the new cellar was built. In 2001 the property was enlarged with the acquisition of another farm, located in Baccinello, a hillside zone in the township of Scansano. New vineyards were added to the older but prestigious existing ones, and today the winery owns over 50 acres (21 hectares) of vineyards all in the Morellino di Scansano appellation. Read more
