Description

What kind of wine is it

Podere Sette Cabernet Franc Il Sette is a still red wine that fully expresses the character of Cabernet Franc. Produced in Tuscany, it stands out for its clean aromatic profile, characterised by a harmonious structure and a precise flavour profile. On the palate, it reveals a fresh and elegant style, able to maintain a pleasant drinkability thanks to the excellent balance of its components. Ideal for accompanying structured menus, it pairs perfectly with pork, game and cheeses.

Where does it come from

This wine originates in Tuscany, in a region closely linked to Bolgheri, from vines cultivated using the Guyot method. The sandy soils give the glass a clear minerality, enhancing its overall freshness. The east-west exposure of the vineyards ensures optimal ripening of the grapes and a precise aromatic definition. Podere Sette manages its vineyards with rigour, maintaining a low yield to guarantee the high quality of the fruit.

How is it produced

Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with the aid of daily pump-overs, essential for a gentle extraction of the noble components of the grape. After malolactic fermentation, maturation continues for about 6-8 months: part of the batch rests in steel, while the remainder matures in second and third passage French oak barrels. This is followed by a light filtration and the creation of the final blend, essential steps to ensure a consistently clean and coherent flavour profile.

History and Curiosities

Founded in 2016 together with oenologist Emiliano Falsini, Podere Sette enhances the Tuscan territory through this refined single-varietal Cabernet Franc. Our winery, located in the heart of Bolgheri, was born from the desire of Marisa Chiappini to keep going on her father’s activity. Continuing the family tradition, today Podere Sette is runned by Marisa’s son, Giuliano. The seven vices are jokingly attributed to Giuliano giving their names to wines we produce: L’Invidio (Envy), Il Superbo (Pride), L’Iracondo (Wrath) and Il Goloso (Gluttony).

Since the beginning Podere Sette shaped its company philosophy to a sustainable ethically running, turning all production in an organic one. The idea is using both innovative and traditional methods in order to offer an alternative Bolgheri way featuring a surprising freshness but without renouncing the classic style of Bolgheri!
