Description

What kind of wine it is

Champagne Ployez-Jacquemart Extra Brut Rosé is a sparkling wine that embodies the distinctive elegance of its region. The result of a blend where Chardonnay is combined with Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir, this wine comes to life through the Traditional Method. Characterised by a brilliant colour and a fine perlage, it releases clear aromas of strawberry, raspberry and redcurrant, enriched by subtle woody nuances. On the palate, it is very dry, defined by a pronounced citrus freshness and a delicate minerality that lead to a long and refreshing finish.

Where it comes from

The grapes come from the historic area of the Montagne de Reims. The vineyards stretch between the villages of Ludes and Mailly-Champagne, including selected plots classified as Premier Cru and Grand Cru. This excellent origin gives the sip tension, precision and a subtle mineral streak. The Ployez-Jacquemart winery, family-run since its foundation, faithfully reflects the prestigious identity of this wine region.

How it is produced

After a rigorous manual harvest, only the first pressing must is extracted. A red wine from Mailly Grand Cru, partly vinified in oak barrels, is added to the base. Following the principles of the Traditional Method, the wine undergoes refermentation and rests on the lees with a long ageing sur pointe, maintaining a vertical position for up to twelve years. This meticulous process, combined with a low dosage, preserves the structural liveliness and clarity of the aromas.

History and Curiosities

Born from the tradition of a family-run maison founded in 1930, this Champagne Extra Brut Rosé celebrates artisanal winemaking excellence. Under the expert guidance of Laurence Ployez, the hand-picked grapes from Ludes and Mailly-Champagne yield a fine first-press must. The elegant cuvée is created from a rosé d’assemblage enhanced by a Grand Cru red wine vinified in oak, completing its character with a sur pointe ageing that can last up to twelve years. Highly acclaimed by international critics, it is ideal for any toast.
