Description
What kind of wine it is
Champagne Pertois Moriset Les Hautes Mottes Extra Brut is a Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs that enhances the purity of Chardonnay. In the glass, it reveals a bright straw yellow colour, animated by a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, it weaves together citrus peel, white flowers and pastry notes with a deep chalky minerality. The taut and saline palate, driven by vibrant acidity, makes it the ideal choice to complement oysters and shellfish, sashimi, white fish and cheeses.
Where it comes from
This wine is born in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, in the renowned Côte des Blancs, a prime area for Grand Cru Champagne. The imprint of the chalky soils is reflected in its precise definition and unmistakable saline sensation. The Pertois-Moriset estate cultivates its vineyards following a biological and sustainable approach. This careful attention results in an authentic expression of the chalky terroir, capable of evolving elegantly over the years.
How it is produced
The production process follows the Traditional Method, with the typical secondary fermentation in the bottle. The Chardonnay grapes provide a linear and refined structure, completed by an Extra Brut dosage of 1.5 g/l. This technical choice defines a strictly dry flavour profile, able to preserve the natural tension of the fruit. Ageing on the lees ensures a delicate creaminess, culminating in a long and clean mineral finish.
History and Curiosities
Founded in 1951 in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, the Pertois-Moriset house cultivates its own vineyards following a strict organic and sustainable approach. From a single prestigious plot comes the 2016 vintage of Les Hautes Mottes, an exceptional Champagne Grand Cru that expresses the true elegance of the region. This refined Blanc de Blancs is made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes, in keeping with the noble tradition of the champenoise method. The carefully measured Extra Brut dosage gives a taut and saline profile, with extraordinary mineral precision.

The House’s history began through the marriage between Yves Pertois and Janine Moriset, the son and daughter of two former winemaking families in the Côte de Blancs.
In 1951, the couple decided to create the brand Pertois-Moriset, which continued to develop as their son Dominique and his wife Florence joined the House.
Today, The House is managed by their granddaughter Cécile and her husband Vincent. The surface of the vineyard is 20.70 hectares, spread over two terroirs: the Côte de Blancs which is around 13.4 hectares, and the Coteaux Sézannais which is around 7.30 hectares. Read more
