Description

What kind of wine it is

Agrapart Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature Champagne is a refined Traditional Method sparkling wine made from Chardonnay grapes. In the glass, it displays a straw yellow colour with delicate golden highlights, enhanced by a fine and elegant perlage. The bouquet combines fresh fruity aromas with enveloping pastry notes, leading to a dry and structured palate.

Where it comes from

This wine originates from the renowned Grand Cru villages of Avize, Oger, Cramant and Oiry, located in the heart of the Côte des Blancs. The vineyards, managed with a strict organic and sustainable approach, have an average age of around thirty-five years, with some historic vines over sixty years old. The chalky soil, characteristic of this area, imparts a pronounced minerality to the wine and defines the authentic identity of this producer.

How it is produced

The winemaking process follows the strict rules of the Traditional Method, enhancing the intrinsic qualities of Chardonnay through a slow secondary fermentation. The decision to offer the wine in a Pas Dosé style ensures a pure and linear expression, with no sugar added at disgorgement. This precise artisanal technique gives the palate a persistent freshness, preserving the pronounced natural character that distinguishes Agrapart's cuvée.

History and Curiosities

Founded in Avize in 1894, the Agrapart winery cultivates its own historic vineyards using organic and sustainable methods. This Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru is made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes, enhanced by the renowned chalky soils of the Côte des Blancs. Marked by the original acronym OVNI (“Naturally Identified Vinous Object”), the wine harmonises sixty-two different plots in a pure and distinctive expression. Winner of numerous international awards, this Champagne embodies unparalleled craftsmanship and an elegance capable of enchanting every connoisseur.

Company founded in 1894 in Avize, in the heart of the Côtes des Blancs, by Arthur Agrapart. The Agrapart company is located in Avize and its vineyards, which cover 9.75 hectares, mainly in Oger, Cramant, Oiry and Avize (all Grand Crus of the Côtes des Blancs).

This geographical situation, in the heart of Champagne and in the villages classified as "Grand Cru" is exceptional. The chalky soil, specific to the Côte des Blancs, creates the ideal conditions for the Chardonnay vineyard and brings freshness and elegance to the wine. Composed of 62 plots (some are over 60 years old), the average age of the Agrapart vineyards is around 35 years.
